More Information

Traditional Chinese music during this time was nearly erased in favor of patriotic songs proclaiming how wonderful Communism was. This music is symbolic of that era in China's history, and in everyday public life. Each song has been digitally transfered from an original phonographic record in China. They remain uncopyrighted works in the public domain, as they were created for "The People" without any claim of intellectual ownership. They are being offered here as cultural relics of China's music history.
