Professor Haiwang Yuan of Western Kentucky University has included some simple audio phrases as part of his Chinese information home page. The audio samples, in the categories Parenting, Greetings, Shopping, Time/Weather/Holidays, and What & How, are in MP3 format.
A netizen identified only as “Li” has put some other phrases in audio for us at http://www3.justnet.ne.jp/~LXM/english.htm. These samples too are very “Lesson One” in nature, but who knows? Maybe that’s what you’re looking for. Audio files on this site are in .wav format. Kind of primitive, but they get the job done.
Taken together, these two samples site do provide a nice introductory sampling of male and female native Mandarin speakers’ voices.
